Cheap boat rod

I have being out on the small boats in bullock a couple of times and really enjoyed it. I am looking for my own rod as i don't have a boat rod :oops: I'm looking for a cheap rod as i don't work :cry: one that will do me for jigging and also bait I have a few old 7000 reels that i can match with it any suggestions will be most welcome.

A reasonable 12-20 class rod would be a decent all rounder as would a reasonable uptider.
If you reckon you will be mainly on light stuff go for a reasonable 6-12. I don't know if you can still pick up a Diawa Vertice or Vulcan X - these came in a 8lb class and would be a lovely rod for scratching around and used be around €50. Have a look in your local shop and get a feel for what's out there at reasonable money and post back what you fancy.

-edit - A search brings up an 8lb Vertice in the UK for £23 +postage !!!!, so your local shop might have a good deal!

I have a Penn PowerXstix 12/20 - it needs to be re-rung (braid was being cut through :) ) , or maybe just 1 or 2 eyes replaced

You can have it if you want

Anto, the Powerstick 12-20 will be a much much better rod than that FWIW. Reringing or no....
Fluff chucking is the new black..... Rampant Wreckfish is a fly angler in denial :D
