Plugging rod which one?

#1 Post by fluffchuckerkb »

Thinking of buying myself a new plugging rod - not that the old Daiwa (Sensor Z casting 8-30grms - I think) I currently use is all that bad but I'd like a rod that can cast light plugs and must be stiff, not too long - maybe 7 to 9 feet - and not too expensive! Any recommendations?

The Sakura Rookie, Teklon Concept Spin and the Savage Gear Bushwacker would all be worth a look and are all in or around the €100 - €150 mark. The are all affordable fast actioned plugging rods and one of the lighter models in those ranges should do the job nicely. I've been using the 8'6" Rookie as my main plugging rod this year and I have to say I've been very impressed with, lovely rod especially for the price.
