People:Me and Chris

Duration:13.15 to 18.00

Tide:falling

Weather:calm

Bait:mackerel

Rigs:3 hook scratchers

Results:small codling,whiting, 1 reasonable coalfish, 1 Doggie

Report:Decided to try the Dee after all K2s reports.
My mate Chris on his first shore fishing outing started by outfishing me by 5 fish to 1 early on, despite only having one rod to my two. I overtook him later on and the scores finished Chris 8, me 14.
Only small whiting during daylight, except for a reasonable coalfish that Chris hooked while reeling in to re-bait
As it went dark the Codling came on the feed although all small.
Finished the night with what looked like a Bull Huss but was probably just a dogfish - didn't fight at all was just like reeling in a dead weight.
All in all a good session and we will be back.
Entries now open for the All Ireland Shore Cod Championships on November 29th hosted by Sea Angling Ireland SAC
