Report:

17-Jul-2010

LW@16.05

Had a couple of hours to kill on Saturday so decided to do a bit of scouting. Came across a small area that looked a bit fishy. Tide was almost out uncovering a lot of weed and rock. Definitely not a spot that would be easily fished on high tide, without risk of tackle loss. Had time for a cast or two so threw out a flapper onto a sandy patch. 10mins later had a flounder (25cm). Small knock on my 2nd cast but no hookup. Had a few more casts without success before my time ran out! Figured I’d try this place again with more time to spare.

Headed back to the same spot again to see if I could improve on my previous visit. Massive amount of weed about made fishing almost impossible. Was getting a pain in my arm from hauling in truck loads of it (and no fish attached  ). Eventually got a tap and landed a nice plump flounder (35cm) :D . Waited another hour+ with no more takes. Under the right conditions this spot might produce more fish, but unfortunately, it wasn’t to be today  !

I'll be back...

Ya, noticed matching pair alright :D . I've had my bellyful of weed (seaweed, that is!) for a while
