#1 Post by paddylawlor »

Hey Guys,

Was out last night in Clogherhead for 2 hours 8-10pm, tide rising. Caught 1 Pollock (first time) 1 Mackerel (Already had for b-fast) & a starfish (by mistake  too busy talking and got my feathers stuck on the bottom).
Entries now open for the Henry's Tackle Shop All Ireland Shore Smooth Hound Championships on July 18h hosted by Sea Angling Ireland SAC

good man, fair play to ya, was the pollock any size? the last couple of hours up to high tide are usually the best for macks there.

Nah he was small I threw him back in about 6 inches long. But it was my first time catching a pollock new to the sea fishing. Just trying to find a few places to go really. Next time I am going to try Baltray

yea baltrays a good spot, you'll get bass there on bait and with lures, lug works well fished from low tide up,
