Donaghadee 3rd June

#1 Post by rdoggart »

People:Me and Peter

Duration:5pm-8pm

Tide:Dropping

Weather:Sunny and warm

Bait:Lug

Rigs:Float

Results:1 Pollock, 1 Wrasse

Report: Decided to pass a couple of hours sitting on the pier at Donaghadee, first cast had a small pollock of about half a pound. Thought that was a good sign. However did not catch the wrasse for another hour, was about 2lb in weight and put up a good fight, so happy with that. Had lots of small knocks on the float so there must be a lot of small fish moving in.
Entries now open for the Henry's Tackle Shop All Ireland Shore Smooth Hound Championships on July 18h hosted by Sea Angling Ireland SAC

Well done. A 2lb wrasse is a good fish, especially at the Dee.

Were you fishing off the back or at the railings?

The pollock came from between the piers and the wrasse just over the back close to the weed. Have a picture of the wrasse on my phone, as my son had gone to get chips when I caught it so took a picture as I knew he would not beleive I caught something while he was away, I will try and upload it later.
