Fish ID?

#1 Post by Jayball10 »

Whats this lads? Have been told 2 things. A codling and a coalie. It was kinda gold tinted in colour and had a little beard but ya cant see it in the picture. Could it be a pollock?

Have a crack off id-ing this. Its not a sprat; its not a herring; and I don't think its a pilchard. 18cm in length, caught on ragworm. Its pectoral fins stick out a bit; its green along the back, with a slight tinge of yellow in the tail. Off ya go....

hmm, could be a juvenile Mullet Pat, not quite sure now which one GG or TL, just too small to be identified correctly from the picture but you mentioned a yellow tinge so it might be a GG?

species for 2010 (27)
species for 2011 (12)
species for 2012 (8)
best advice for catching species is girls dont like fishing and its hard to catch fish when you sell all your gear'
