Greystones - left of South beach (nearer the harbour)

#1 Post by John D »

People: Me, Gemma (girlfriend) & Greg (brother)

Duration: 18:30 -> 12:30

Tide: High tide was at 1:45 in the morning

Weather: Cold. Calm weather and calm sea. No waves at all. No rain either. Frosty too.

Bait: Fresh peeler, lug and mussel.

Rigs: 2 hook paternoster. Size 4/0 and size 1/0 hooks.

Results: 30 fish between us. Mainly coalies. There was also a half decent flounder, a tiny codling and some whiting. All fish were under 1lb.

Report: A very enjoyable nights fishing. We were kept busy. All fish were caught less than 60 yards out. Some were caught about 15 yards out. The stamp of fish could be better. The beach wasn't busy. I think there were a couple of lamps up the top of the beach near the golf course?
