People:North Down Beachcasters SAC, 7 members

Duration:1730-2330hrs, 14/04/10

Tide:HW 1938hrs

Weather:Warm and clear

Bait:Maddies, rag, lug and mackerel.

Rigs:3 hook flapper, size 2 & 4 hooks

Results:12 Coalfish, 3 Flounder, 1 Cod, 1 Five-B Rockling

1st David Garvan 390gms
2nd Stan McNeilly 310gms
3rd Adam Bowers 200gms

HR - Stan McNeilly, coalfish of 310gms
HF - David Garvan, Flounder 100gms

Report:After a nice drive to the North coast we were welcomed by warm clear weather and good building surf. The fish were also there from the start with a double shot of flats for me and Ben but this was short lived as not much showed for the next 4 hours. Things slowly picked about half an hour after the sun dropped with the small coalfish moving up the beach. During the last hour there was the occasional shout of a large fish landed but unfortunately (as they don’t count) these turned out to be Sea Trout up to 2lb. Still, it was a good turnout and an enjoyable nights fishing.

Ps: the dates on the photos are, I have not set the camera yet.

nice going, just when i see the gold tripod, where did you pick it up?, a club member was asking me about them the other week.

It is an original Ian Golds “one off”, well he made about 50 but I still have not seen another like it. I got it about 15 years ago in Dover. Sorry; don’t think he will get one now. Ps; you will not miss me on the beach 8)
