Co Donegal pier 16.04.10

#1 Post by last cast lad »

People: me and mick

Duration:7.00-12.00

Tide:all the way up

Weather:mild

Bait:mackeral

Rigs:pulley, clipped down

Results:me 8 dogfish, mick 11 dogfish, 2 gurnard

Report:Decided to head down to a local pier mark for an easy session  felt we deserved it after all the hiking we done recently to the rock marks.
Got set up and it was pretty much fast and furious for the first 3 hours but nothing but doggies showing up, then out of all that maddness Mick landed 2 gurnards  :D 8) one after another and no matter what sort of scratching rigs I lobbed out all I kept getting for the evening were dogfish  . But there were a few cold winters evenings of blanking consecutively for about a month that left me promising never to complain about a dogfish again so for the record I was glad to get each and every one of them :| :| they did seem to have a more rounded nose than normal and definately sharper teeth than normal, definately mini sharks
