Tide:High in Wexford City at about 08:30. We worked from that basis.

Weather:Sunny. Warm. Calm seas. Excellent water clarity.

Bait:Fresh lug, fresh rag and fresh peeler. Green aile magnet floating lure, shallow diving sea trout pattern and a dexter wedge.

Rigs:Simple 1 hook.

Results:Blank.




Report:With nothing much else but bass on our minds we tried various locations up and down the Wexford coast from Roney point down to Cullenstown Strand. We didn't even get a bite, well apart from a few crabs. We consoled ourselves by acknowledging that anyone else we met fishing also claimed not to be catching anything.

Hard luck, this weather is not doing us any favours for bass fishing - I spent a lot of hours over the weekend mostly plugging for bass and all I had to show for it were foul hooked small garfish and a micro turbot Next weekend should be a different story (I hope).
