Kerry Coast Bass - March 2010.

#1 Post by KERRY1 »

People: Myself and K2

Duration: 11 days

Tide: Mixed tides from high to low depending on location fishing

Methods used: Plugging, spinning, baitfishing

Baits used: Freshly dug lugworm & razorfish

Results: 39 Bass (caught both on the plug during the day & at night using bait)

Report:

Myself and K2 headed down to the Kerry coast on yet another one of our bass fishing trips. We set off early on the long journey down to our destination and after a 7 and a half hour drive we finally arrived.
We done alot of fishing for the bass during the day using plugs and this proved to be very productive with us both catching fish.
We also went out every night and fished for them using bait and although we still caught fish, they didn't seem to be in the numbers that we where catching during the day.
We used a variety of different baits but razorfish proved to be the best bait of all with the bigger fish we caught taking it.
We fished with just one rod each the whole time, holding them in the surf.
We travelled alot of miles each day (1811 in total over the 11 days) to get to the marks that we fished, all the marks where new to us and we will be going back to them when we are next down.
The biggest fish of the trip was caught by K2. We both knew as soon as he struck into it that it was a good fish and it put up a really good fight! It was caught on bait at night.
The best day we had was when we caught 13 bass on both the plugs and on the bait that night, our best day's fishing ever! It'll take some beating.
Below are some of our favourite pictures from our trip for you to have a look at.

Brilliant Bass.hing K1/2. I can't wait for the silver bars retun. Plugging is the most exciting fishing method for them. Is this is Grauvell rod on the pic?
