Re: ultima power steel ?
hi wayne, its good alright all though it wont be replacing my braid on my lighter outfits i,ll be using it for distance work and bass fishing ,much improved bite detection and as tough as nails ,it is however pricey ,i,m gonna spool up a big pit with it ,it,s fine on my 6500 so i dont see why it wont be ok on a fspool ,i,d say it could be used for snoods aswell havnt tried it yet but will next time i,m doing a batch of rigs

Re: ultima power steel ?
reading this thread has got me interested, so i'v sent off for a spool of it in 15lb, by all accounts the reports on it all seem good, so same as yourself rog' i'm going to put in on my 6500's and give it a try.

Re: ultima power steel ?
hi rog' how are you getting on with the power steel ?, i've been using it steady since i got it, and find it great!!! lays well on the reel and is beautiful to cast with. have also used it on one of my f/s reels and its the same story
it is prisey stuff but its worth every penny....

Re: ultima power steel ?
I recently purchased a couple of spools (15 and 18 lbs). I used the 15 lb line for the first time last night - amazing bite detection. Even bites from tiny coalfish and codling were strong - kept thinking I had something bigger on the end

I will be putting it on all my reels. It's a bit more expensive than a good mono but definitely worth it.
