Carlingford Tope Trips

#1 Post by scrob »

Hi guys,

Has anyone been on an organised tope fishing trip out of Carlingford Lough?

A friend and I are planning a summer day trip and were in touch with Oliver Finnegan who runs http://www.carlingfordlough.co.uk/

Oliver was saying we would most likely leave the Lough and head out into the Irish sea and use fresh mackerel. Has anyone much experience with this - what are our chances of success?

Price seems reasonable for 6 hours fishing :) Really looking forward to it - and ideally as I'm bringing my own tackle I'm hoping to learn enough to allow me to fish for tope from my own boat in Co. Donegal, because I've tried once or twice but really hadn't much of a clue what I was at

Funny you should mention him, that's who I was originally trying to track down but I couldn't remember his name, I got countless emails last year from the Lough's Agency reporting his success and that's actually what put me on the notion to get a trip booked this summer. Would you have a contact for him?
