As promised, a report of thursday fishing. Hight tide was at 7.30 pm, I fished from 4.30 till 9.30 I 'm fishing for 35 years now, all over the world, mostly in Europe. Since 1 year, I'm living in ireland, and ik took some time, but I found some nice spots the last months and cathed not bad at all. But.... somebody has to tell me how to fish in timolegue an Courtm. from the bank. I used all kinds of bait, had two rods, etc... but the only things I catched were... two crabs and tons of weed!!!! To be honest, i was very disappointed in that place and don't think I ever come back there. last weeks I was fishing in Cobh and around Kinsale, and always catched very well: Pollack, Wyting, mackerel, bass, dogfish,.... Tomorrow, I go back to cobh for a couple of hours, and wednesday evening near old head of kinsale, excellent spot there, but don't go alone, a little bit tricky in the dark

Whereabouts near the Old Head you fishing Xavier? I dont live too far away from there and had a nose about the odd time but didnt really see anything suitable. Usually head to Garretstown Strand for a bit of shore fishing but the problem with there is that when conditions are right for bass, IE good surf running, you pull out stones of weed! Was down there 3 times last week, 2 dogfish and 2 flounder on a calm day, 2 days surf was running, nothing.
Fluff chucking is the new black..... Rampant Wreckfish is a fly angler in denial :D

Xavier, you must be either fishing in the wrong place, wrong gear or a bad angler. Fishing in the harbour has had its best year ever, numerous fish recorded.

to reply to the above replies:
1. I don't know Conger!! but this year, I was three times in TL and CM and had twice nothing, except weed and crabs. Once I had a couple of wyting and some cod. usually, I fisch 3 hours before HT till 2 hours after and use all kinds of bait. i don't say I'm the best angler, but I know of myself I'm not bad, after 34 years. So, i don't know!! maybe bad luck...
2. Petekd, i do not really like Garrest. beach, sometimes too windy, too many people ask me how is fishing, ... and not too many fish there. However, 2 weeks ago, |I catched some nice flounders on the worm. I follow the road to the golf, and at the last junction, there is a kind of a chapel, I park car or motorcycle there and go straight down, is about 10 minutes walking. But be carefull. Even when it.s hight t. , you have some perfect places on the rocks to sit down, and there you find... everything and lots of cod and codling in winter. But cast a far as possible, otherwise you loose too much lead and hooks.
