Penn Powerstix

At the suggestion of various members and given the magazines will run a mile from criticising a piece of kit, here is your chance to tell us what you really think about a rod, reel, line, lure... keep it legal please!

Penn Powerstix

#1 Post by Conger »

Hi Lads

Came across the Penn Powerstix 15' 9 rod the other day with what i think is a fairly good price, just wondering has anyone used one or what do people think of them, i am currently using the penn ruffstuff rod another old penn and am very happy with them, just worried as i got a penn reel recently and the reels are definately not what they were :? :?

All advice greatly appreciated

Regards

would be interested to hear also about the 15' 9 version

have the 13' version easy to use, great bite detectoin, but would imagine the above to be better for a bit of distance

Yeah definately for distance, the ruffstuff rod that i am using at the moment is superb but would not be a distance rod and on the look out for something to give a bit more distance,

im useing this rod with a year great bite detection greatly improved my distance as im still casting over head thump draw backs for this rod would be its difficult to handle in a gale hard to keep it upright on the rod rest and dangerous where there is overhead lines because of the extra height also if ya break a section your fault or not the company is not intereted in fixing/replaceing at all they only want your €€€€€€€€€€€€ thats my personal experience tight lines

Thanks for the advice Bhoy32,, are you using a fixed spool or multi on the rod.
