Its a flounder.

The last pic on your origianl post looks like it might be a dab and flounder and shows what Eric was saying pretty well about the white belly. The left fish is transluscent and looks like a dab while the right fish is matt white and looks like a flounder.

And im sodry for my crappy fish jokes and id like to add its great to see a young lad so into his fishing and a father who encourages his son and who obviously is very proud of him, i hope i can have the same with my child whom all going well shold be born this time next month
