I'm incredibly jealous! Fair play - the middle one is a fine fish and a great sign for the winter to come

Nice fish Pat,
plenty of the smaller fellas around since i've been speaking to you last, unfortunately a couple of the beaches i've tried recently have been like kelp forests so i've hit the sheltered marks   [no such place at the minute],my biggest winter fish to date has been an 8ft tree  ,gave a good account of itself as well. Its been tough getting the ould lug a well but thank goodness the fish don't seem to be to fussy at the moment, looks like the spin gear is going into storage for a while, now im off to get a few 7 or 8oz leads for the weekend

Marlinman was skeptical of the recent reports of cod from the shore. Were the pics a photoshop jobbie of yesteryear or were they the real deal? Only one way to find out....organise a cod hunt :D . A plan of action was soon underway, although a bit of travel was involved.....

Yip its official these fish do exist :D .Cheers Pat for letting me in on the action, lovely night for it thoroughly enjoyed it and herself was delighted to see me come home eventually with some fish as she's been waiting quite a while  .At least i need'nt worry about my dwindling frozen crab stocks for the coming few months  .
Got home eventually last night due to another short cut been flooded  ,but the long journey home was worth it and hopefully the other fishes will be around for a while to come yet
Roll on another storm

I'd reckon that the fish upriver in that estuary near you are now down by the estuary mouth  .
