Gilthead Bream

#1 Post by christickner »

Hey All,

I'm new to this but thought some of you might like to hear this one.....

Great session Thursday last at laytown, 1 Bass, 1 Eel, 8 Flounder, 1 Codling, 1 Whiting and a Gilthead bream.

To be honest I didn't realise that it was a gilthead and it went into the bag. When I realised what it was and how rare Giltheads seem to be, particularly on the East coast, I got in touch with the CFB and they have asked me to bring it in for them to examine it. It makes me feel a bit less guilty knowing that it's being donated to science!

Unfortunately I cant upload a photo as my broadband is so slow it keeps craching but I'll try to get one posted as soon as I can.

I'd love to know if anyone else has had a Gilthead or even heard of any on the east coast.

Chris
