Well done mark.
All who qualified were worthy anglers and fair play to them for giving it their best shot.

As regards to team selection, go down that route, lose your clubs, its that simple in my opinion.
The fish off pool system has been tried for a few years now on the shore, have the results at world championships improved since their creation? or got worse than it was when you had your top 5 from the masters making the team?

I know that interest in even going to the masters since the introduction of the fish offs has gone down with some people i know.

Cost of making a world team now seems to be the killer with many. Fish hard at club level for a year, win your club, go to the masters the following year, hope you finish first out of say 100. If not, hope you make top 10......then have the cost of another full weekend away to fish in the fish offs in the hope of making top 4 in it. then Once you do make the team its a fair cost to actually travel with the team as well as far as i am aware.

For anyone to do this year in year out, id say you would have to be pretty wealthy never mind committed.

During this time of recession is it an idea not to send teams to the Worlds until its all sorted out?
Not the BigPhil from Irish Angler mag, I'm the original, i swear!!!!
