portsalon pier 22.10.09

#1 Post by last cast lad »

People:me and mick

Duration:7.00-12.00

Tide:high at 8.30

Weather:blustery

Bait:rag lug mackeral squid

Rigs:flapper, pulley

Results:me 4 dogfish
mick 5 dogfish, 1 flounder, 1 coalfish

Report: have the thornbacks really all gone :?: , I was catching them later than this last year :!: we had planned to go to a beach mark but it got quite blustery and i felt lazy  so we opted for the shelter of the pier hoping to land a few thornies, this mark will normally produce the goods for us. I had a very poor session but at least didnt blank, not a single catch on my worm baits just kept getting stripped :x , even with the rag tipped of with squid the hooks kept coming back with squid but worms stripped :x I'm telling ya someone is educating them crabs. Mick at least got a few species, with a coalie of about 1lb.
It's all about the fishing
