People:myself and anto

Duration:8.00pm-11pm

Tide:full 8.30pm

Weather:lovely, no wind big whole moon no need for headlamps

Bait:fresh mackeral caught on greystones pier and rag

Rigs:one up one down, tope pulley rig

Results:50+ fish, lots good size whiting, dogs, couple of dabs

Report:lovely eveing, just a quick session but a very enjoyable one. couldn't keep the bait on the hooks with the amount of bites. tried for tope with fresh fillets of mackeral and then tried live baiting a small whiting but didn't get any runs. the brother paul had a good run last week the trace gave way right near the shore.
Entries now open for the All Ireland Shore Cod Championships on November 29th hosted by Sea Angling Ireland SAC

Was down in Kiloughter on Sat morn... wasnt great at all. 2 decent sized whiting & a handful of very small codling & dabs between 2 of us...
We were there for around 3 hrs+ from 10ish onwards. Pretty disapointing

sorry to hear that....pick an evening tide(not a big tide) and fish into darkness with worm and fish baits and i guarantee you'll catch a hell of alot more...we were catching doggies 3 at a time.
Luck is when preparation meets opportunity..

Yea I fished it this time last year one night & it was smashing... Twas a good day all the same. Was surprised there were no doggies, they seem to have been sexually attracted to my rod the past few weeks! (A little relieved at the same time - I'm Sick of them!!)
Oh yea, one other other thing, not ONCE did i pull my line back in without EVERY hook bare! Pulled in a few craps, there must have been tons of em out there... unless anyone has any other explanation? Bit of weed on the way back in - could it just have been the weed striping them on the way back?
