Hi All,
I'm at a wedding in Ballyheigue this Saturday, but might tip down on Thursday afternoon to get some fishing in before the festivities. The tides are very small this weekend which I know won't be conducive to great fishing, but I'm just looking to catch a few fish, don't care what they are - flounders, bass, ray, wrasse, pollack, whatever!
Obviously I don't expect lads to post their prized bass or painted ray marks, but if anyone can drop me a pm with somewhere to catch a few fish close enough to BallyH, I'd be most grateful.
Cheers,
Alby
PS Well done on yet another All Ireland. If only Sligo had taken ye out in the qualifiers, it could have been us!!

Re: Tralee Bay - This weekend
Just saw your post from 09. If your ever in the location again try the blackrock its in banna (you can drive most of the way to the rock, ask anybody where the road is, its sign posted on the road from ballyheigue to ardfert) walk towards ballyheigue for 5 mins when you get to the rock and fish away. Ballyheigue beach around the carpark area can produce plenty flounder and schoolies and even the odd big bass.
If you have no joy there than there is plenty marks in tralee such as the SPA and Blenerville. Fenit bridge isnt great but is very hndy and at times can produce good fish using fish bait. Summer months the best and november on for whiting. In August the squid can be around in big numbers which is good criac.
If you visit Kerry alot I would suggest buying the Bob Moss books. He gives plenty of locations and best times to fish them, even best baits to use. I think they are 10 euro each and the 2 fo 18 euro. Fantastic tips and well worth the few pound they cost.
