Rock/Boat Rod

I bought a cheap Zebco rock/boat fishing rod the other week, 1.80m long. Its stiff and sturdy.
Was wondering could i use it for lures and short range casting off rocks and peirs ect.

by any chance was it the zebco big fish rod in the carrick tackle shop???? imho i wouldn't bother using it for the lures i'd say its too heavy but for short range stuff yes defo. but it you want an out and out rock rod get a greys apollo mk2 monster of a rod

haha yea that was it mate. Sturdy big bitch so it is.
I shall look for that greys rod then mate.
