Wexford Bass 08-August-09

#1 Post by Danny M. »

People:Baz Pat & Myself (1st location1 / 2 hours) Pat and Mysef (2nd Location 1 hour fishing 2 hours walking/ hiking!!)

Duration:a few hours hours fishing

Tide:Rising

Weather: strong southerly / rain

Bait: Hard and Soft Plastics

Results: Location 1 :No Fish
Location 2 :2 Bass 1 Wrasse.

Report:On 1st location for first light, strong southerly kicking up a a bit of water, lovely clear water but no fish for 2 hours of throwing out everything in the lure box. Strange...but true.
We went for the breakfast and Baz headed off to work for the day.
Decided to venture further a field and hit the road for location 2.
Arrived and Pat headed for his Wrasse spot and head off looking for a gulley which I duly found. I spotted a Bass cruising in it with my Jims, flicked out the xlayer in front of him ...bang fish on, ...lol..wasnt even there 2mins ! I let a few shouts at Pat who came over for a gander...'already' I think were his words  picture and sent Billy back into to the water.
I wondered off looking for anther spot and left Pat at the gulley.
Pat joined me ten mins later saying he landed a small Bass for the gulley. A1 Sharon.
I picked up a bruiser of a Wrasse as well which fought like a demon
Got nailed at another spot, line zipped off the reel and then slack line...reeled in and half my xlayer was missing ! There’s a first for me!
That was it really, spent most of the time walking looking for more spots, the weather was brutal with driving rain so we packed it in. Have to catch some zzzzzz for tomorrow morning, another Bass attack :D
