donegal rock mark 05.08.09

#1 Post by last cast lad »

People: me and steve

Duration:9.00-11.00

Tide:just past high

Weather:great

Bait:mackeral

Rigs:flapper, pulley, congor trace

Results:pollack, coalfish, three bearded rockling, 2 dogfish, my first double figure congor

Report: steve arrived on the rocks an hour before me and started spinning for a while no mackeral about but pollack and coalfish up to about 1.5lb I arrived and put out my boat rod (short but strong for this job I find)with a congor flowing trace, within 15 min and still before it got dark I had one good run which produced mr first double figure congor tipping the scales at 10.5lb :D :D :D :D :D So I got to use my new T-bar disgorger (thanks for the advice tanglerat) really simple, really easy to use, really effective, every home should have one saves getting the fingers too close :!: needles to say I could have gone home happy at this point 8) but stayed at it to make sure steve, new to fishing caught a few fish and he did, pollack, coalfish and dogfish, 3 species in 2 hours. Just as we decided to pack up my long distance rod nodded again to produce one of the oceans cutest fish, a 3 bearded rockling measuring 37cm.
Sorry I have no photos, the battery in my camera was flat
It's all about the fishing
