Ye old bass mark 31-7-09

#1 Post by wilky83 »

People: me
Weather: sunny with a light breeze
Rigs: Lures
Tide: two hours to low tide
Results: a few hook ups none landed

Report:
Headed out to my local spot that has kept me in the bass well recently trying out the braid for the first time ever, amazing i didnt think it would be so different i could feel evert stone and piece of weed amazing so easy to tell the difference between a bite and a snag, hooked one bass but as first time with braid the directness scared the s**t out of me and i didnt manage to set the hook, had my first ever follow i was standing in the water about knee height and was looking to see where the lure was then there was this big black shadow following my lure it was a big bass maybe 6-7 lbs, it was so cool it was moving effortlessly behind the lure :D  8) , then sadly it swam into my shadow and got spooked before it had a go at my lure :( :( , what a thrill though wow. Even with no hook ups a great day and ai wish i got braid earlier :) :( .
Tight Lines.

take it ya were using a kilty  , ,imo. very few of the bass that see/follow ever take em, try a feed shallow there at least 5 times better (and 5 times as expensave  ) i fished with about 10 guys 1 day last november, most used kiltys an tobys, they all blanked , i fished with a s.feed with and had over a dozen..........................if ya got 20 fish a season kilty,s, with a f.shallow it would at least 60+ and of a better size..................................t.b.h. to use em ya are limiting ur catch.
