Fixed spool cleaning?

#1 Post by wilky83 »

I was wondering if anyone could give me a few tips on cleaning my rells after a session i have been just running them under the cold tap but is this enough to keep them clear of erosion by salt and the like??

Run them under cold water and rinse the salt spray off them and dry, remove the spool(your mono will rot if it contacts wd40) and give them a good spray of wd40 leave overnight and dry off with a soft cloth. This should see them last for a while.
Don't start taking off the side plates to lube there's no need.

Be careful with WD40..it will break down grease, so use sparingly and wipe off any excess.
