With all the mackerel in, I decided to spin for a few between 7and 9pm yesterday. Nothing doing until a seal pushed a shoal (or followed them) from the harbour and then most people then got a couple each. Which is better, fishing for them on the tide or just before dusk??
Entries now open for the All Ireland Shore Cod Championships on November 29th hosted by Sea Angling Ireland SAC

Was out there Saturday myself, caught about 10.I find when beachfishing it's better to spin for them on the incoming tide a couple of hours either side of high tide usually gets the best results.Dusk can be a good time aswell no matter what level the tide is at.
