Mullet Rod!

At the suggestion of various members and given the magazines will run a mile from criticising a piece of kit, here is your chance to tell us what you really think about a rod, reel, line, lure... keep it legal please!

Have been doing a bit of research on this myself recently as I need one too. Having spoken to a few Mulleters (successful) and surfing the net it seems that a 12ft rod with a TC of between 1.25 and 2.5 is what we need for light tackle (most incl myself are using 4lb braid). The Abu enticer seems to get a few mentions and does not seem overly dear at under 40 quid. There is also a new Firetip Mullet rod at about 60 quid. You could of course go mad and plump for Greys or Imax. I may go for the Abu unless something else turns up in the next few weeks. Still stuck on a reel though......

Stick with a 1.25 tc rod or so.. A 2.5tc is way to much for even harbor fishing when you have to keep fish a way from snags and you would have to use about 30 braid to balance it :!: As for the Imax so called mullet rod    More at home banging out spinners for good size pollack  Its way OTT wonder if the person who designed it ever fished for mullet :?:

Thanks for that, sort of suspected that was the case and am looking around for a 1.25/1.50 12 footer. :?
