This has being going on for years lads. They have a quota of fish they're allowed land and if they catch anymore it has to be dumped.
If only the people who were giving out about a few pin whiting being killed knew how much these trawlers dumped they wouldn't be to concerned.

if it was left to the trawler men their would be no fish left to dump ,look at the the north sea cod .iceland has the best idea . i dont think trawlermen care about future fish for their sons or their sons to catch ?its give me the money now and to hell with the future .gone are the days of them getting large cod .what about your bass fishing its known the world over, that nearly went to the wall.what the trawlers do see fish on the fishfinder they net them find out its the cheaper fish so dump them and try for the fish with a better price tag its what they land that counts as the quota. it makes my blood boil to hear the poor trawlermen going on about falling stocks and wanting to make the mesh smaller in the nets .ask any idiot if you kill the fish before they can breed how many fish will you have ?? ask a trawerman and he will look at you as if your mad. sod it i'm going for a cuppa frank
