Duration: 0800-1800

Tide: neap tides

Weather: calm and sunny

Bait: frozen macs, squid and peeler

Rigs: pirks shads muppets and redgills

Results: lots of ling to 20lb, lots of coalies to 11.5lb, lots of pollack to around10.5lb

Report: The skipper had a group of cork lads out sunday and all they caught from the
far out wrecks was one saucepan lid, we were nearly going to cancel then decided to try wrecks closer in.

Straight away i had a 14.5lb link follow closely by a 12 pounder i was sure id win the biggest fish prize

species 2009, whiting :(, three beard rockling,.shore rockling, 5 beard rockling, flounder, lesser spotted dogfish,bullhuss, dab,bass(13), more whiting : pollock,poorcod,pouting, sea trout(the dodder!)brown trout,sea scorpion,mackerel, silver eel,
topknot:), cod, conger, corkwing wrasse,smooth hound.

must say really enjoyed the day ! especially when you win the tenner a man wager :wink: which paid for my trip :D thank to gary for the lift up and fairplay to him for bringin the black bags which proved vital when we arrived back at port and id just like to say hard luck to the cork lads who caught sweet F-ALL !! the day before us , (dont worry lads if you ever want to know how to fish just ask us dubs(jw , myself and wrassebasher) who clearly dominated the boat 8) UP THE DUBS :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol:

great decision to stay close cracking fish dont think the dubs would be able to land the saucepan lids the cork lads caught not an easy thing to do.the elusive lids they known as around here best bait for them is rusty pots :lol: :lol: :lol:

Thanks to JW for organising the trip. Great day out in outstanding conditions.

I'd second that. Many thanks to JW. Congrats to Boycie on a great fish....btw it was nearer to 21lbs on my scales...but I suppose you're happy with 20 :wink: .

Nice fishing lads, puts the tiddler scratching we were doing on Sunday in the shade thats for sure. Pat, dont mind Boycie, there's nothing more annoying than a jammy young fella..... :D Wrassebasher, think I recognise you from the pic, Defence forces SAC by any chance?

Yes Jim, the fishing was great. PB for me on the coalfish @11.5. Previous best was on Pollack Rock @ 6lb. PB equalled on pollack @10.5lb. Had similar sized fish on the Daunt & on the Harbour Rock previously. The bigger coalies around 8 - 11lbs fought like hell....makes you wonder what a 20lber would do. Have signed up for next week already....fingers crossed :D .
