Servicing reels

#1 Post by Donagh »

On Mulitiplier reels what do you do with metal drag discs. I leave them without oil so the drag won't slip.

Also on the 525 mag I use grease on the handle bearing as opposed to red RF on the 5 normal bearings. Is this correct?

Your dead right, never put oil on drag washers, just give them a wipe down.

The only bearings you use RF in is the ones the spool uses to rotate, and greese for handle (roller) bearings

Hi Paddy,

Thats what I do It's just the roller bearing I grease. I'm servicing my reels and had a sudden thought that what I was doing might not be correct so thanks for your help.
