Telephone Wire

#1 Post by Century Man »

Is this hard to get or can it be bought in electrical retailers etc????

Would prefer to use this as opposed to crimps for adjustability.

Cheers for the replies folks.

Is this just basically the wire the one would use for a phone extension as such and just a matter of stripping it?

Or is a different wire altoghter?

Apologies for the ignorance.

Howeeya. Try some garden wire. The green plastic coated stuff. No need to strip it and it gets a grand grip without damaging the line. Strong enough for clips too ;)

Hey man, a few pics of your finished rigs with the telephone wire would be interesting to see. Sounds like a good idea and very affordable.

Rigs Using Telephone Wire 002.jpg
I know a lot of anglers down my way use this instead of crimps etc...

Big advantage of course is if you need to retie a new hook the rig is more adjustable etc than say a rig that has crimps.
