Shore marks near westport?

#1 Post by Big Dave »

Hi All,
Im taking the camper to westport this weekend, just wondering if anyonr knows any god shore marks up there?
Really looking for some Ray, but in event of crap weather a nice big pier would be great to park up on and fish a long night session with all the comforts.

Any suggestions?

pm kieran he will bombard you with about a 100 "god" shore marks up there

down at the pier in the town itself its rough bottom - have heard some lads swear by it and others totally rubbish it, never fished it though

have only ever fished out of westport itself - achill, corraun, belmullet, mullraney - all a bit out of your way

you could always head down to murrisk - 4-5 km out the road near croagh patrick - theres a few beaches nearby and a couple of sandspits with any amount of stories about bass knocking round the back of them - theres big mullet there anway

good luck
