Was fishing yesterday. Caught a flounder and and eel about 50 cm long. Looked very like a fresh water eel but not sure. Is this unusual to get eels here? Has anyone else ever caught eels here. Maybe its as stupid question but i just thought its a bit far out to get them
Entries now open for the Henry's Tackle Shop All Ireland Shore Smooth Hound Championships on July 18h hosted by Sea Angling Ireland SAC

Silver of resh water eels are common throughout Waterford Harbour including Woodstown. Very tasty but I think they could be protected now?

Time spent fishing is never time wasted...

2015 targets - a triggerfish, a specimen bass, a three bearded rockling to complete the set and something big and toothy from certain north Mayo deep water marks
