St Johns Point, Donegal

#1 Post by MackDaddy »

Has anyone fished around St Johns Point recently? I'm heading this weekend and I'm dying to get a cuckoo wrasse! I've seen ling down there too so wouldn't mind teasing one of those out from the shore! :D :D :D Was down diving there a few weeks back and seen plenty of rods about but they were mostly adorned lovingly with teams of six coulourful feathers.
Hopefully I'll have a sore arm and a few new species by the sunday!
><:> ><:> ><:> ><:> ><:>
Species this year... ...Coalie, Codling, Dab, LSD, Whiting, LS Sea scorpion, Pollack, Thornback ray, Poor cod, Pouting
Entries now open for the All Ireland Shore Cod Championships on November 29th hosted by Sea Angling Ireland SAC

If you look straight across the water , you will see me fishing the virgin waters!!

Haven't fished St. Johns in a while. I have seen quite a few cuckoo caught from a boat about 50ft out from St. Johns. Watched a man pull in wrasse all day from the shore, all ballen.

Fished St.John's last weekend had a crackin day catchin pollack and wrasse all to the left of the lighthouse, Lug was my most productive bait of the day with size 1 mustad neon hooks using a 2 hook rig and about a 120g weight with strong currents bouncing my bait about the bottom which gave me more bites and fish.
