HOW DO U GET THEMI KNOW THEYLIVE INSAND BANKS AROUND
DUNGARVAN BAY anyone know where to start looking??

a gardwn rake and scrape the sand and they should flop out.

Are sandeels accessible anywhere in the howth to laytown area, I gotta catch some as I'm buying all my bait at the mo €€€. Dug lug once but didn't seem to fish well, awkward buggers.

yes claremont beach in howth you can net them.hope this helps you.

DAMIEN - cheers, yes it does help :D ... firstly can you tell me where claremont beach is? and secondly when you say net them does that mean that you run a push net through the shallow water at Low water.

hi.
yes push a net at low water or you can use an orange net and a rake to get enough for one session.claremont beach is in howth.its right at the back of the train station.take a left after the train station take the first left beside beshoffs and walk/drive dovn a long lane. need any more info feel free to ask :D

il think you find it is damiens correct it is claremount strand and it is possible to get eel but beware of the tide here.
