I use it with a small shimano cardiff baitcaster, 30lb powerpro, I've not used it on a 6500 sized reel yet, but I would like to try it in the future. I know of a few on the UK forums that use braid on their 6500's no problem.
Takes a lot of care and attention and a bit of maintenance now and again.

I use it on a small Quantum baitcaster and on my shimano 4000 spinning reel - 30lb. Never used it on my other 6500/7000 multipliers - too scared of birdies!!!!!! The mono works fine so dont feel the need to try braid also.
