Report:Tried one of my usual marks with Marty but the wind was too strong which made the fishing very difficult so we headed to a sheltered mark.
When we arrived there was a few fish moving but they didn`t hang around and just kept swimming up stream.Marty had to head on but i decided to wait until the tide started to drop again to see if they would hang around at the usual corner.
I moved upstream first to see if there was much happening and spotted a small group of fish splashing around so i threw in some freebies which they happily took so i had a quick go with floating bread but i missed 5 fish before the tide dropped and they moved with it
Groups of mullet 40-50 strong came downtide and hung around for 15 mins until the next big group took their place.I was using sunken bread and missed a few bites which was starting to bug me,then while i was casting most of my bait went flying off leaving just enough bread to cover the hook.I left it in the water hoping there was enough bread to get a mullets attention,it did and i hooked into a nice fish but unfortunately after a good scrap it came off as i brought it to the net
I put the smallest piece of bread i could get to stay on the hook and cast out again and 30 seconds later i had hooked another nice fish. This one didn`t get off and after a very good fight it was in the net and took the scales to 3.9lb
After a few more missed bites i hooked into another, this one didn`t fight as hard but was still good fun.It must have been the other mullets twin cos it also took the scales to 3.9lb
I missed two more bites before the tide was too low and all the fish had moved away.I counted about 200-300 mullet pass me in the 1.5hrs i was there.
I know where i`ll be tomorrow night
