People:shammoo and myself
Duration:1-3
Tide:ebbing
Weather:sunny and calm
Bait:rag
Rigs:short snoods ,size 8's
Results:corkwings,goldsinney,ballan wrasse and tompots
Report:wanted to get a few species for the year so while waiting for a boat at bullock we heade to the east pier for a couple of hours, using small mini species rigs and my 20lb class boat tackle  we got plenty of sport over what must have been 15 or so goldsinneys and corkwings, a possible rock cook and a ballan for mark, nice one too and a tompot for me. later on got my first ever long spined sea scorpion off the boat, got snagged while trying to get the hook out i got the little blighter on the free hook. plenty of pollock too caught 10 each in a couple of hours, with mark getting the biggest. surprisingly only one wrasse of the reefs seem to be getting kinda of scarce comparing to a few years ago

small hooks, and small baits, got all my minis this year on small bits of rag or lug, bout a cm long, just enough to cover the hook, find some broken ground with weed which is easily visible at low water and fish it at high water if you can, large rock pools are good too :D rigs easy to construct, just 15lb clear mono, short snoods and about a foot drop to the lead to prevent snagging up every cast. greystones off the rocks is good too, picked up sand gobies, dragonets, and small gurnards last year

That ballan of mine looked a lot bigger in the flesh
You sure that camera of yours works properly eric
I think I need to learn how to hold a fish to make it look bigger, I should maybe start a thread in the "tips and tricks" section, some of you guys have got it down to a fine art
