Second Sac Shore Competition (Ballyreen Co Clare)
We plan to have the next comp on the 11th June (afternoon) West Coast (Clare).
We hope it will be a rock venue, but will have a reserve venue in case of inclement weather conditions.
More Soon.......(please indicate your interest in competing by replying to this thread)

JD, I spoke the the same man you did and he was very helpful. He did say it was a conger eel spot first and foremost. Their are other fish of course but how are was to measure big conger or are we weighting them.We are told to use very heavy line (60/70lbs) straight thought. I will not target conger and would like your feedback. I will go for pollack and fish in clear ground. Can we use floats and lures. His sister runs a B/B 10 mins away called ROCKY VIEW.

If you have your ifsa I'm sure the fanore lads wouldd be happy enough to let you fish on the competition on the Sunday. In the case of our club their happy enough to fish our competitions and we theirs. If any of you want to have a pleasure fishing session over the weekend in the estuary just get in contact.

i PRESUME we are measuring them, not weighing. Sometimes eels are given a set number of points. There are pollack, wrasse etc there too- and floats and lures are allowed. I'll talk to kieran later.
