Am thinking of buying a new beach/shore multiplier and am looking for tips. What's the latest opinion on what I should go for. It's about 20++ years since I used one and that was one known as a 'Sea Streak' and I was very pleased with it. Know I'll be birdie-ing at first but cannot get any great distance with the FS; perhaps I'm just sh*t at casting
Any input greatly received.
Steve.

The worst time to have a heart attack is while playing charades! Specially if your friends are no good at it.

i fish mixed ground clean and rough, and have recently got myself a penn 525 its a cracker of a reel, took me a bit of time to get the feel for it, but now i have the mags set at fast, and it is great for getting a cast with distance, and its pulling power is great!!! you wont go wrong with the 525.
as ole rab c said " see me' see the sea' i love the sea me"
right i'am off for a swally!!!!!!! so were's the F***'n purse!!!!!!!
have had trouble with 525 'supermag', found 525 mag extra flawless, great real to cast and fish with. old 525 also good real, picked one up while back, have had no probs but 525 extra is a smoother cast in my own opinion
I'd go for the 525. Any of the mag versions should be fine. Although if you are new to casting multi's the extra has a couple of extra magnets which will help slow the spool down while you get used to everything.
thats sounds resonable. who'd you get it off. was it original mag? thats way better then veals? are there any other hidden charges-custums duties etc?
thanks again,
hugh
ta steve, might aswel make hay while the euro rises! pity deleated that email from airlingus on 5euro fairs I'd have gone over and got a suitcase of gear!
When you're buying from outside of the EU, you're going to be charged +/- 25% VAT and duty on the total amount including shipping / insurance costs, or at least that has been my experience of it. I know some stuff slips through but I've been charged every time. There more info about about the charges, gifts and that kind of thing here. With the dollar exchange rate at the moment its still probably worthwhile just remember to factor in the additional charges and the time you spend waiting for it to arrive.
When ever i buy reels from the USA/EUROPE i ask them to mark it as "gift" and ive never been asked for additional charges, and i get quite a few reels...
