Kerry - Out of Bounds?

Just returned from a fantastic week in Ballyferriter/Dingle. Didn't manage to get much fishing in with 7 kids in tow (not all mine!). Kids bagged a few nice wrasse from Dunquin pier - great fun. Spotted some school bass cruising Clogher Head cove from the clifftop (as close as I got :( ).

One thing I did notice is the appearance of new signs posted prominently around the area "discouraging" unauthorised walkers, very official and proffessionaly printed (not you're usual hand painted tirade). I even saw one posted on a public road leading up to the three Sisters. It seems we are not welcome in many areas, also the number of times I came across barbed wire fencing placed across cliff top paths makes me think that Kerry is closing down to the rambler/fisherman.

Has anyone else encountered this phenomenon in Kerry/Elsewhere?

some of these clifftops are very dangerous. as far as i can remember a visiting UK angler fell and died during the Daiwa pairs a few years ago. while the fishing can be exceptional, is it worth it?

Signs discouraging people away from dangerous are always welcome and to be truthful the land owner might need they for insurance reasons. Hopefully there are no signs telling people not to walk on land that is not dangerous.
