People: Me and John

Duration: 21:30 - 11:30

Tide: HW 21:00ish?

Weather: calm, clear, 6 degrees, very pleasant

Bait: lug and launce

Rigs: single hook 1/0 clipdown, and two hook flappers various sizes

Results: few whiting, pouting, a dab and a nice edible crab (all back safely - well as safely as is possible from an elavated rock

)

Report: Bites every cast to the lug. All fish that were landed were small. John was missing a lot of fish as he was using 1/0's in the hope of getting something bigger, but the small fish were just stealing the bait. I bagged a couple early on (including the dab) and then switched to launce on a 1/0 in the hope of something bigger (petekd had picked up ray here a couple of weeks back and that was what I was really after). No noticeable bites on it, but last cast the bait was missing and it was securely elasticated onto the hook - no idea what happened to it, unless I missed a bite whilst talking to John. To finish off John pulled in the crab - he's the man for unusual catches....
Anyway, nice evening and a few fish for a quick session.

Wasn't any wind to speak of Pat. Wouldn't have gone down to this mark if there was. I think there is some truth in the old saying alright, but its not always correct. Have had great days in seemingly bad conditions and bad days in great conditions. I have to go when I can go and thats about it. Only heed I pay to the wind is to decide if I can hit a mark or not or if I'm going out in my boat.
