Fished the pier at Leenan in Inishowen yesterday. Landed about 2 hours into the ebb and only fished for just over two hours.

I caught two flounder though, both on sandeel tipped with squid. We had 5 rods in the water with all types of bait concoctions on the rigs (mackeral, sandeel, squid, mussles, prawns...) but no one else caught anything.

The first flounder was about the 2lbs mark I would say, the second about 1lb in weight.

Quite chuffed as they were the fiirst flounder I have ever caught!

Have seen thornbacks taken from the marina last year alright. Falling to sandeel and mackeral. Your looking to cast into the deep channel directly in front of you, running parallel to the beach.

Let me know how you get on.
