30 species chase

#1 Post by blaker »

I was watching Matt Hayes on LivingTV and he was chasing 30 species in 30 days. Majorly challenging and rewarding! Obviously we all have real lives so can't take a month off to go fishing but surely something like this is achievable over a 6/12 month period. Chasing a target would really force you to think and keep you committed and focussed as well as encouraging you to go after new species. I figure the following fish can be (fairly!) easily chased in such a small country:
Bass Cod Conger Silver Eel Dab LSD Flounder Garfish Mackerel Plaice Thwaite Shad Whiting Ballen Wrasse Rockling Pollack Ling Huss Mullet Scad Thornie Sandeel Coalfish

If you add a couple of different gurnard, ray and a couple of off the wallers (trigger, cuckoo etc) and you're done!
Definitely giving this a shot this year. I've 6 already!
Entries now open for the All Ireland Shore Cod Championships on November 29th hosted by Sea Angling Ireland SAC
