Nice fish alright, fair play. How long did it take you to land it?
i recon it took about 20 mins
i was more worried about loosing it but it was fun running along the beach shouting at roger to reel in as i was coming towards him
i think he actually asked was i in

excellent fish denis.
i take it it is the same venue where joe got his rod whipped in on sunday
you would think he would of learned to set his ratchet from last year
very lucky to have got it back.
i would put that fish in around the 50lb mark.
well done

last year was more my fault he did ask me to watch it but i hit a fish and was fighting it when i seen his rod flying through the air at some speed
it did cost me a red oblivion so i learned a lesson to
yea was thinking she was def 50 as ive had pleanty on the boat in and around 40 and she was so much bigger and heavier

From a shore? Wow!
Does anyone know what the record is for a tope caught from shore? It can’t be too far from 50lbps or is it?
Nice fish! Well done! Seriously, well done you!
Steve, need a lift down there??

There was a photo of a guy in one of the Sea Angler mags last year with a 55lb Tope taken off Kilcoole beach. You shoud send in that photo above, see if they print it.

I've seen a few big Tope overr the years, I would bet that Tope is well over the 40lb mark, it looks to be a solid looking specimen.
