I have been watching this one with interest. Any reports along the east coast yet? Or is it still a bit early?

Probably a little bit early, not even catching many on the boats atm, only 2 mackerel caught out of 6 boats last Sunday

One nice one right on the 1lb mark yesterday in Co.Down while fishing for pollack

Several locals reporting good catches of decent sized macks off the North Mayo cliffs and rock marks in recent days. Nasty onshore North winds tho, so extreme caution advised.

West Cork, Baltimore up to Bantry area, shore and boat up to 5 mile out produced only pollack, no Mackerel caught as of yet

Clougherhead/Port Oriel at the weekend - 1 young lad with a rod out at the pier and another on the rocks further up with feathers. DIdnt see them catching anything though.

I spent a couple of hours in Clogherhead on Wednesday. No sign of mackerel or, for that matter, sprats. I caught a 3-inch Gurnard and a few 2-inch whiting so at least I didn't blank!
