Result: A corkwing wrasse
First time fishing at Poolbeg lighthouse, I've been wanting to try for mackerel here for a while, so I packed some feathers and left over ragworm from boat fishing yesterday. I setup a float with the ragworm on my 9ft rod and cast it out about 3m and kept it tight to the rocks. So while waiting for a bite I got to casting my feathers, guy beside me caught a pollock that was just about eating size, I ended up losing 2 sets of feathers to snags and ran out of weights but while reeling in the float to check the bait I actually had a fish on without realizing, turned out to be a nice little corkwing wrasse! Lovely colours on this fish so it was worth the drive to this spot!
